Of the hundreds of weddings I’ve been blessed to photograph, this one will forever remain in my top 5.
The day didn’t run like a traditional wedding day. There was a first look ‘reveal’ on the Sorrento Pier, Wedding party photos in the park follwed by Pizza for lunch. And finally an ‘almost sunset’ ceremony on New Years Eve. I would photograph a wedding every New Years Eve if they were going to be this much fun!
Danielle and Luke first met in Utah, USA in 2006, a working holiday and a romance that never ended!
Danielle filled us in on a few details from their enagement story:
It was a TOTAL surprise! Luke proposed in the Grampians, where we were spending the weekend for my 30th. We went rock climbing for the day with friends, and as I got to the top of one of my climbs, Luke was down on one knee at the summit, ring in hand!! When I looked back down at the ground (20-ish metres below!) our friends had spread out a “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” sign in the grass! It was awesome, and we partied the night away with our nearest and dearest to celebrate.
When we asked Danielle and Luke why they choose The Garage Studio as their Wedding Photogrpahers, heres what they had to say:
We met Fiona at a small wedding fair in the Docklands just over a year before the wedding. She was so friendly, engaging, and sounded genuinely excited about our plans for the day when I told her what we were doing, which was REALLY different to all the other photographers that were exhibiting that day. I also LOVED the example Album she had brought to the show with her. There were no doe-eyed photos of lovers gazing at each other – more just candid shots of a group of people having the best day of their lives! I was hoping we could get someone to capture our day in the same way!
After the wedding we asked them if they’d made the right decision:
The two of you ladies put your all in to our day, and for that we will be forever grateful. It was stinking hot, there was a MASSIVE bridal party to try and keep tabs on, and I feel like we asked a lot of you. Fiona even gave my parents a lift back to their accommodation towards the end of the night. You captured every photo we hoped for – and more – and our pictures remain to be the best I’ve seen! We are still completely in love with our album and look at it often. We are so lucky to have found you guys to spend the day with, and thank you so very very much!
When it came to choosing All Smiles Sorrento as their venue: It was a super relaxed venue who were happy to do what they could to meet our needs. They promised food til we were full, drinks til we were drunk, and staff who would party with us and look after us on the day. They lived up to the promise, and were fabulous!!
