My

    philosophy

I believe your children can be your greatest source of achievement and greatest source of stress, all rolled into one.  As a mum to two gorgeous and creatively mischievous children, it’s okay ‘not to be okay 100% of the time’.  Trouble feeds the soul like no other adventure, and it’s okay to go back to bed after school drop off.

Most importantly, when the memories fade, it’s always the photographs that help us remember the ones we’ve loved and lost.

Exist in photographs now, just as you are, for who you are and for your family.

     story

Faithful photography of your family life.

Learning you’re pregnant is supposed to be one of the most exciting times of your life. You’re newly married and picking out nursery furniture, and for us it was all a little bit different from that. We didn’t quite have the fairytale pregnancy we were expecting. Starting at about 23 weeks in, they said “I’m sorry, this isn’t looking good, you’re going to need to go and see your obstetrician, the child’s head is not growing as quickly as we would expect”, From there began the journey we are still very much travelling on. We were given a very dire picture: “if the child survives pregnancy, they may not live very long, and they’ll have a severe disability”. When we were asked if we wanted to know what sex the baby is… and were told “You’re going to be having a boy” it was at that moment he stopped being a fetus with an abnormality, and starting being a boy, our Harry. My family was gathered at the birth waiting for Harry to arrive and out came this tiny bundle, and he cried.

When I look at Harry, I think yeah it’s been tough, he still sleeps in our bed, he’s very active, he never listens. in some ways it’s like having a two year old that never grows up. Then again I have friends and family with children with greater disabilities and how blessed are we to have Harry doing as well as he is!

From the moment Harry arrived, I’ve felt a burning desire to record his precious life, whilst it lasts. It has to be through trust and connection that I capture the faithful photography of your life.

   Fiona

I am Fiona, the photographer behind the lens capturing your family moments that matter. With natural simplicity and a fine art finish.

After studying forensic photography at RMIT University I worked and travelled until the birth of my first child. Since then I’ve been fortunate to study with some of the world’s best newborn, portrait and wedding photographers, developing my own signature style which is clean, honest, beautiful and heartfelt.

I jump at each precious photographic opportunity and relish photographing wedding couples, their pets, whilst pregnant, their newborns and then family portrait photos. Each snap of the shutter captures your life’s iconic moments for your walls and albums to be treasured and enjoyed.

I pride myself on connecting with people. The relationships I form with my families are the most important part of my business. It creates an intimacy in my photography & makes for a fun time together, where everyone can just be themselves!

I hope that you are here because you are planning to capture life’s precious moments. If my award winning style is for you, please contact me to meet and see what we can create together.

ps I’m grateful to my friend and fellow photographer Kim Selby for taking the photos of my family and I on this page, and to Preface Films for the gorgeous video.
